Mexican immigrant who founded a Global Drone Company


At 20 Jordi Munoz moved to the US, he could not legally work, or enroll at a college. However that did not stop him from building his own drone prototype in his garage using whatever parts he had on hand, including a Nintendo remote control.


Today Jordi Munoz is founder of 3D Robotics the largest US-owned manufacturer of commercial drones, employing more than 357 people and with yearly sales of more $50m.


Munoz says the US has been good to him
"It really is a land of opportunities, so it doesn't matter what is your background. If you work hard and do the right thing, and you're honest, you can always do what you want in the US”.
